Cook's louse Harkness "Mushy" Mushgrove III is a Rawhide character played by James Murdock. He is the understudy of Wishbone, cook of the cattle drive crew led by Gil Favor.

Personal life[]
Mushy's mother is named Martha Mushgrove. He also has at least two cousins from his father's side of the family: Posie and Laverne Mushgrove.
Illnesses & Injuries[]
When he caught a robber in the act of stealing a painting that was held in the supply wagon, Mushy was shot and injured. [1] His recovery took a while and he still held his arm in a sling when he was in his next gunfight. [2]
