Marian is a character from the series Shane. She is a widowed farmer, working the fields together with her father-in-law Tom Starett and her helping hand Shane. After the passing of her husband she seemed bound to raise their son Joey all alone, but Joey finds a father figure in Shane, who is a former gunman. At first, Marian is critical about Shane's past, but when time goes on she realises how much Shane has changed and is glad to have him around.
