Joe Scarlet is a Rawhide character played by Rocky Shahan. He is one of the main drovers of the cattle drive crew of trail boss Gil Favor.

It was hinted Scarlet had a wife or girlfriend named Nancy. When he was taking a nap on the trail sometime during the day he was jokingly woken up by his boss. He reacted irritated when Favor tickled him with a blade of grass and called out for 'Nancy' to stop pestering him. [1]
