Elizabeth "Liz" Strafford is a 1923 character played by Michelle Randolph. She is a feisty and capable young woman set to marry Jack Dutton of the Dutton family.

Elizabeth was born to Bob and Beverly Strafford, who run a ranch in Montana. She spent much of her childhood in and around her family home but was sent east for her schooling and stayed unfamiliair with most of the work done on a ranch.
Shortly after she dedicated herself to ranch life by deciding to marry Jack Dutton, she was injured by gunfire during an ambush set up by Banner Creighton, an enemey of the Duttons. Both Jack and her father were shot as well and whereas Jack had a speedy recovery her father died of his injuries. [1]
