Being active as a director, producer and writer Charles Marquis "Bill" Warren had a big influence in the western genre, especially in television. Warren had an important role in putting some of the longest running western series - like Rawhide, Gunsmoke and The Virginian - on the air and is often mentioned as the creator/developer of those series (even though he was never credited as such).
